2005 European Trip

This is a picture of a street sign in Copenhagen, Denmark.
I went there in May. I also went to some places in Germany and Sweden to
visit friends and relatives.

Here's a three-wheeled car in Bamberg, Germany. I went
there for a day with my friend Bobby. It was truly one of the nicest
German cities I've ever seen. Rothenburg ob der Taube can kiss Bamberg's
ass.

See what I mean about a nice city? Here's one of the two
gigantic churches in Bamberg. It was a beautiful day, and for some reason,
there wasn't a tourist in sight (except Bobby).

Here's a dramatic-looking windmill that I saw on a train from
Hannover to Bremen. I lived about an hour away from Bremen in 1998 for a
whole year, yet I never went there until last summer. I'd really recommend
it...it's got the Bremen City Musicians, some cool old buildings, a river, and
statues of pigs.

Back up to Denmark...This is a urinal at a Indonesian
restaurant in Copenhagen. I've always taken pictures of foreign urinals
and toilets, and this specimen is a true beauty.

To contrast with the earlier picture of a windmill, here's the
old-school way they used to mill wind back in Denmark. Fun fact: The
Vikings discovered wind power! I should know; I teach a class about
Vikings.

Here's some weird-ass submergible Swedish art. This hand
and face were bobbing up and down in front of the royal palace in Stockholm.

A billboard on the side of a building in Stockholm.
Ramlösa is a Swedish brand of mineral water, but it's also the name that my old
roommates Zach, Andy, and I gave to Mimosas. Either way, vodka and juice
on a Sunday spells refreshment and alertness!

This is my friend Bobby with some apple-corn in Regensburg,
Germany. We were hanging out in the courtyard of the building I used to
live in, called Goldener Turm. It was raining like a bastard.
